Pros & Cons
Pros
While they are not the most noise insulating, it's plenty enough. Build quality and construction is outstanding. I was pleasantly suprised at the sound quality and frequency response.
These headphones are bar none the best headphones you can buy for this sort of money and a lot more imo. They are for focussed appreciation of quality performance and production - certainly not for easy listening! At all normal listening volumes, the ... Read More
They are fabulously comfortable, with no ear pressure at all. The headband is good and adjusts nicely and the fabric around the ears is very comfy and makes a nice change from the faux leather which peels.
They have very strong clamping force but they have a metal headband. The only criticism i have is the non-removable cord. People online praise these for lasting many many years.
Is this a good or a bad thing? That's up to every listener to decide. Some of it can be adressed with a little eq tweaking. There dt770's come out well/top again and again.
Cons
Con's:-very uncomfortable - makes your head and ears hurt. Sound isn't that good - lacks a lot of bass. Large hollow plastic ear pieces are a problem.
The only way i can hear my ipod clearly is if i turn the sound up to 100%, even then my drums still come through at a pretty decent volume. This headset basically isolates you from nothing other than some high end. Even though the noise isolation is v... Read More
No detachable cable. The cable is too rigid, therefore cumbersome. I yse these with an i-pod and they're just not right for the job.

The higher pitched guitar notes will be easy to make out in general but the lower repetitive guitar notes can sound a little drowned out and lacking in detail

If you like atmospheric repetitive riffs think darkspace burzum you might find the sound with these a little lacking with an overly emphasized bassy atmosphere
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Its just not as emphasized as it was on my old headphones which had a very different sound signature
