The brass case keeps the glowing dial from being scratched. It is very well made with a handy clip to attach to any clothing. Overall, not totally disappointed.

The needle gets stuck. The markings are inaccurate. There is absolutely no way this compass can be relied on to point you in the correct direction.

The compass is cheaply made, there’s a dent on the side of the cap and the internal component was dislodged upon receiving. The pointer is actually metal. The “gold” flakes off super easy.
