Pros & Cons
Pros
Amir digital fishing scale with gripper. Tape measure clips onto fish gripper. The clamp is much better for the fish than a hook.
Very accurate and durable. It seems to take a bit to come on and we need to zero it out each time before using it. This one fits the bill and seems very accurate.
Cons
All it would do is show 88 88 then lo and shut off. Only blinked 0s. When it doesn't, you have to take the back off fiddle with the batteries.
Fish slip or wriggle out of the grasp often. Broke upon my second use.
Weights seem to be off by abt a pound. Compared it with known weight and the scales accuracy fails miserably. It also only shows lbs and ounces.
I'm very frustrated with having paid over $20 for a scale i used less than 20x and that now doesn't work. Plus it cannot be repaired. Checked berkeley website and no way to get a refund or replacement.
Highlights
Quality
Scale is easy to use seems accurate and durable
I wish the scale went over 50 lbs but it’s easy to use and seemed sturdy
Once batteries die and you ger lo on the screen you might as well throw it away
Purchased new 2032 batteries and still says lo
Price
For the price you cant beat it
Great scale for the price and is very accurate
But it operates on an obscure button style battery which are both expensive and difficult to find
Competitiveness
Note this weights in s and ozs as opposed to s and 1100s on the amir
