While i wouldn't agree this is completely spill proof it is spill resistant.

The only real annoyance with these tablecloths is the factory hems are fairly crooked so it may not drape well unless you do some work on it.

However, sauces/oils can still stain it, so it's not fully kid-proof.

It also looked pretty wrinkle-free when i took it out of the package and i was able to put it on my table right away.
