Pros
This product is timeless. Cheap and useful. Strongly recommend for a home cook. Instructions are in japanese so learn how to use it before buying. Wish it had english instructions but looked on youtube on how to used.
Cons
The blade not good, slicing of veggies are ok but julienne cuts are not work with the blunt blade. Its little spikes actually ends up ripping the carrot apart. The hand protector is very slippery to hold.
Having a narrow blade area to work with can be very restrictive. The size is way too small to be of any good use. Another reviewer found the product too compact and unsafe.

Like the japanese mandolin you would expect its good quality we use it in the industrial kitchen and would recommend for home use
The thickness setting doesnt budge when slicing and it gave me consistent slices for things like zucchini chips

It does the job fine and isnt expensive
Packaging/appearance
Cuts well but all the packaging was in japanese
Competitiveness
Ive tried a few store bought mandolines and the benriner brand is far superior
If you try to get the difference with other machines just use potato

The only slight negative going for it is that it isnt wide enough for some large vegetables
