Fyi we all the reviews and even benq seem to gloss over the fact that the difference between th685 and th685i is not just one less hdmi port. The i version adds hdmi cec so you can have some control to or from the projector.

The main issue is that it is not easy to get the setup right

When hdr is on you cannot change the screen settings so better to switch it off

I am using with projection screen but i also tried it without the screen and the image is still good

So even if you dont want to use benq smart projector dongle and figure you rather save money
