Pros & Cons
Pros
Benken padded shorts are perfect for roller skating. When i meet another new skater, or a reluctant would-be skater i immediately lift my dress to show off and sing the praises of these padded shorts.
They're pretty stretchy which is nice and not too bulky. They aren't so bulky that they limit range of motion, but the padding is legit. Only suggestion is to add more padding towards the crouch area.
L fits me well, i’m 6’0 200lb, waist 36. They fit a bit tight on the thigh area but are really comfortable nonetheless. I can adjust these straps on the side to secure the fit around the waist. It's maybe a bit loose if i wear them as shorts, because ... Read More
As such, i was already outfitted with all the expected ppe. But now with these + knee pads and wrist guards. Comes with a nice one sided mesh bag to help air it out after a skate sesh. Comes will breathable bag for easy storage after use.
Cons
Insanely bulky. All the belts and the zipper are a lot of work when you stop to go the bathroom.
Highlights
Quality
Appears to be good quality and likely to last
These shorts are very well made impressed with the quality
Dislikes slightly bulky and uncomfortable at times does slide down at times and could use a belt loop attachment
They are on the heavy side and the thicker material makes it not breathable
Price
These shorts are worth every penny for the added confidence of falling without fear of injury
For this price overall is not bad
I’d say this was worth every penny from the very first fall
Packaging/appearance
And the cool thing is it came with a nice bag with zipper
Competitiveness
I also own both the triple 8 and the bodyprox padded shorts and the benken shorts and the padded upper body shirt are the best by far
I notice this butt pad has tailbone pad and most of the other brands don’t
So i dont know how this compares to other pads
