I tested with an ipad mini nonretina performing a couple of drop tests from 612 inches onto a table dropping the device so that the corner of the case struck the table first

The speaker cutouts seem to be placed in the wrong area the speaker grills arent visible through the cutout but testing showed that the sound output was unaffected by this odd placement

There the case i tested didnt quite sit flush on the ipad bezel instead curling up at the edges around the button cutout

This is kind of annoying as it interferes with the thumb feel on the button when held in landscape mode

I was using a spec case with a cover and it was fine at a desk or table but if i was lying down or sitting in a recliner and holding my ipad my fingers would often go over the edge of the case and accidentally touch the screen
