Ive tried the metolius gate keeper and the dmm rhino on both all belay devices were able to slip right over the screw lock causing a terrible crossload

This also happens when i put the belay device on with the rope in the belay device

However when you do want to take it off it comes off easily

The plastic gate removes the worry if the carabiner is locked or not since it will only close when the screwgate is completely locked

It wont let you forget to lock it because then the plastic piece wont close on you
