It was worth the money even though it didnt come with a train set like those boxed train table sets at costco and the like

Just keep in mind that if you were to stain it you could run into issues with the birch and maple absorbing the stain differently

My father who loves wood projects highly recommended the type of finish we used and i am very impressed at how clean and natural the finish looks it didnt alter the color at all and the satin finish barely reflects any light and thus usually looks like it isnt finished at all

I am not sure if the protective coating we put on this thing has protected the table from pens and marker but it probably has prevented water soaking into it when a kid has taken and spilled water where it wasnt supposed to be

The one thing they could improve on is the tabel top isnt actually being supported by the rods that go underneath it as it should

Im thinking they didnt recieve all the pieces or holes werent drilled in right places or something which is obviously a problem

Most lego tables come with one big base plate or 4 regular sized ones and are often that cheap plywood you find yourseld taking knicks and chunks out of during assembly and then every time you try to use the darn thing
