Quality

Overall i am very happy with the result

It does exactly what i want it to do was easy to use and i am very impressed with the quality of the recordings i am getting

Unfortunately the shockmount cradle that is supplied with this microphone is pretty poor

The sound quality is very clear it’s a little tinny but picks up just what you give it rather than background noise

Price

I ordered this a while back when the price was around the £60 mark even now the behringer b1 is still excellent value

This microphone has really nice sound and for the price is an absolute bargain

So i replaced it with a mackie 402vlz4 plugged in the at2035 but continued to struggle with its thin sound

Competitiveness

This microphone makes the highly rated at2035 which costs more than twice as much seem dull in comparison

It is a standard studio microphone pattern with good pickup in front of the microphone and good drop off behind which helps with feedback reduction

One thing worth noting the behringer b1 does require phantom power in order for it to work though if you dont have a mixer or desk that supports it you can pick up the behringer xenyx 502 which does support the b1 adequately

This is a great product for the price dont be put off by people who pay £300 quid for slightly better quality then turn the noses up at you for not having money to spare this product will be enough for your amateur recording needs by far and if you used it professionally 99

This microphone is absolutely up to the task of commercial recording and should be a consideration for any budgetconscious artist or engineer

Note that this mic needs a phantom power supply so if you are going direct into your computer you will need to buy behringers phantom power supply for around £20

Beware though as some measure the size of the surround to make the 34 capsule up to a 1 paper specification and the 1 to 1

Not all phantom power quite reaches the voltage it should and lower values will mean a bit more noise
