There is prose and verse and some terrific illustrations drawn by dawud anyabwile that do get a nod from kwame in his acknowledgements but get nothing on the title page or the cip record at the beginning of the book

With the “based on fact” comment in the preface and the marc record designation of fiction i chose to shelve my multiple copies of this title in fic ale and fic pat in order to snag fans of both authors and even put a copy in 92 ali
