Stainless steel keeps heat within the carafe. Beverages remain hot while the exterior remains slightly warm. This is lighter than my old press but does not feel cheap.

No issues with the plunger or the unit itself. Seals are super tight so not 1 granule of coffee slips through. One quirk in the design is that the lid isn't tight-fitting.

Easy to clean, looks sleek, great replacement for my glass french press. I also wish the screens were easier to clean but definitely not a reason to overlook this gem.

Build quality is very poor. The plunger is thin and feels cheap. The double mesh is poorly done and allows quite a bit of grinds to get through. The unit feels flimsy and cheap.

There is some insulation (it doesn't get hot, just warm) but i suspect the insulation is just air and not vacuum. I own other vacuum-insulated products that don't even get warm when full of boiling water.

Boiling water shoots out of the spout like a gun and requires it to be soaking for at least 5 minutes. Tested it by pouring hot water in and. Like spots all over the rim.
