Magnification on this is 14x and it is great. It does a good job of magnifying with no noticeable chromatic aberrations or distortion. The field of view is small also but the clarity and magnification are perfect.
The lense is perfect. There is no objectionable aberration with this lens. Great optic but too small.
The best way to observe tiny objects is to always keep the lens as close to the eye as possible and then focus by moving the object itself closer until it is sharp while rotating your body until the object is out of the shadow. The power of the magnif... Read More

The new unit is clearly smaller, cheap, poor workmanship. Which is why they don't do that; and that is intentionally deceptive.

Great deal for the quality i got

Over all i think its not enough of a step up to justify the higher price
There is no objectionable aberration with this lens which for the money i spent is what i expected
