One of the sides did not seem to match the hole in my toilet but when i carefully tightened the screws partially on one side then the other before completely tightened both it seemed to lineup ok

It appears that this happened in transit so it would have been better had the company protected the seat better

I cannot feel any rough areas where are the scratches are it seems that only the surface of the shellac is marred
