The weight is not a deal breaker by any means. I am used to the gx-8 or lightweight bates. They're actually waterproof.
Quality is still high and hasn't diminished over the years. Almost everything is being made overseas in china or some other se asian country now. It is worth noting i haven't relaced these boots since i bought them two years ago.
Wore them all the way through academy, at graduation and during 8 hour and 16 hour duty days. Took a bike vacation, and wore these after breaking them in. This pair is at 800 miles and has more tread then my last pair at the same amount of wear.
They work perfectly. Solid, comfortable, stylish, durable. When polished they can hold a shine very well.
Cons
The first pair had some issue with the heel so one boot made an annoying clicking sound when he walked & it flexed. If you don't get another pair - this is not something you can break-in.

This leads to inconsistent sizing and poor quality

Definitely worth it leather is good which is rare for the price
Although these boots are almost 200 they are worth it
Got for good price and they are good boots but unfortunately they are not working for me for some reason

The day these boots came in there was a big storm coming
Had 30 day return and its 20 some days over so im stuck with them
Competitiveness
The bates durashocks are a danner acadia with a normally size toe box and it makes a huge difference
Danner chippewa bates thorogood and others only offer a few us made boots anymore
