A very steady tripod of some type is a must. It definitly needs to be on a tripod. Works very, very well for my stationary purpose it's great. They seam quality enough i may not need to buy a set of them again.

I am very happy with this purchase
I bought it for whale watching from my terrace and am very pleased
Once i opened the package and pulled them out i would have to agree with the poster that mentions the case they come in
The second bino was a bit miscollimated and required a bit of fiddling with the screws under the rubber
Price
At that size and price i wouldnt think it could take much abuse
Competitiveness
The big 20 x 80 barska x trail binoculars are a solid value
However its true it cannot focus sharply on objects 70ft away or less
They are a liitle big and are not handy for every day type thing but great when you have time to set up the tripod
Fold back the rubber eyepieces to give you a larger vision also makes a big diference
