It either doesnt work at all or ends up shocking the crap outta my dog for shaking his head scratching himself or running

I was wanting to know how much of a static shock it was and this morning while shutting the gate i banged and rattled the chain hard enough that the dog shock collars while in my hand gave me the first shock
