The lid has flaps that can fold into the handholes on the box, which helps keep the lid on. The lid fits really well so even in my damp garage space i don't need to worry about the papers getting moldy.
They are the sturdiest, strongest storage boxes i have ever used. They are very sturdy and will last forever, barring water and critter damage.
box is a single cohesive unit when folded flat, so it will behave well when stored flat. 2 layers of cardboard on bottom and each side, 3 on the ends. arrive unfolded, so they store flat until you actually need them.
Cons
Flap type, not separate cover. Acid free file boxes cost ten or fifteen dollars each. Edges and corners are more visible in dim light. By the time i am able to empty them, the boxes will be classed as only disposable as hazardous waste.

Sturdy easy to put together and neat
These are super sturdy with a durable cardboard on the sides so when you have to carry them you dont need to worry about tearing the sides
Tried the medium duty and they were way too flimsy
Dust and dreck that can uglify the lids can be wiped off rather than soak in or grim up the tops
Price
If metal file cabinets are beyond your budget this storage box is the way to go
At about 7 per box it would be a bit pricey if you dont need that sturdiness
I think they are a very good value for the price

The box that the boxes are packed in turn is excellent storage for paintings and mirror
Four stars because for cardboard boxes the price could be better but truly great for packing and to keep items safe from dust and the like
