Several pairs have a very firm insole in the toe box. Perfect for flat sandals and heels. Can wear heels longer.
Cons
The raised ridge is uncomfortable. It keeps feet from sliding but applies too much pressure to nerves. Also very difficult to line up perfectly with toes.

The fact that they have an elevated division between the ball of your foot and the toes makes them super difficult to place correctly on the shoe

If it is not exactly where your feet sit on the shoes you will feel a bit of discomfort whether at the ball of your foot or on the toes
