Just plug it into a usb port on your tv and align the 2 ir sensors. Could also plug the usb into a wall socket connector. Power comes from a usb plug that i'm able to run out of my cable box so it's always on and ready to receive my remote's commands.... Read More

Apparently a defective unit. Even after re-locating the ir sensor numerous times on the cable box. Maybe the one i purchased is defected or something.
Full disclosure-the glass in the cabinet is a smokey glass. Disapointed about keeping the cabinet doors open. Total junk. This is useless.
