Pros

This was a great purchase -- our grandson absolutely loves it! It's a wonderful toy for a 3 or 4 month old. Two month old grandson loves this.

The black and white is good for newborns but aside from that i just like having toys that are not always with gender specific or cutesy patterns. Black and white contrast stripes and a really good crinkle/crunch sound.

Cons

Compared to the crinkly paper on a playmat we own, this is annoying loud—so much so that my son hates it. It looks like super cheap fabric and sounds like it has plastic chip bags sewn into it.
