We would first heat milk in the medela storing container then transfer to bottle so bottle didn’t get too hot to hold
Just give it about ten seconds or so to wipe down and cool off the outside of the bottle

Also yes it stops automatically once you set timer but it will continue to heat milk if you don’t remove it from the warmer we made this mistake a few times

You have to monitor the time yourself and the length of time it takes to warm up depends on the amount of milkfood and its initial temperature when set in the warmer
