I recommend seasoning the pan at least 5 times before using it i seasoned mine 7 times then did a stove top smoking oil seasoning with flax seed oil very thin coat after each use hot water rinse
Also the sides are a bit like a saucier pan they are more rounded than steep that does make a difference
Best pan i ever bought
