Update i did not have any trouble playing music from my phone while it was charging so therefore i believe it was just the mp3 player i had

Only issue is that you have to turn the radio up pretty high to even begin to hear the music even with the phone turned up

Do hear noise when phone is plugged into the charger but only during long quite pauses in music playing so you do not hear it much
