Pros & Cons
Pros
The cushions are plush at six months. The cables have an unusual multiple connection bus-type connector for each ear can. I use these mostly away from home, so the detachable cable and case make for a nice portable set up.
Cons
The ends connecting to the headphones seem snug, but i have to re-adjust the connection every time i sit back down at my desk. It seems crazy that audeze can't make a usable cable but as they can't these are basically useless.
Highlights
Quality
I mainly use it with the dragonfly red 1
They have a substantial build quality almost to a fault at first since they do come in on the heavy side
To me the most important three things about headphones are sound quality physical comfort and durability
Imagine i am listening to recordings that i have 45 years experience with
Price
For perspective i also own the audeze lcd2s beyerdynamic t1 and t90s and grado 325es
Packaging/appearance
First the packaging a little over the top
Competitiveness
The el8 closed are my favorite of all of the under 1000 audeze products
For what i do i prefer them more than the 1500 audeze lcdxc model which i use frequently as well
I find these headphones really hard to match with other competitors playing at the same league
Ps the less expensive hifiman 400s sounds tizzy to me even after 300 hours of break in
