I swapped my other gauges with red led bulbs that have a nice faint but viewable view of those gauges but this unit appears sealed and no access to internal light to change out
May hook to vehicle dimming circuit or add a dimmer for just this one gauge far too bright and distracting for a gauge i had them keyed so they would always illuminate if vehicle was running
Otherwise may pull gauge pull the 5 nuts on backside and see if unit comes apart allowing access to the lamp inside and install lower lumen lamp the blue hue and the red needle are attractive just too bright
