Pros

The plot is well thought out and, despite its basis in legend, believable. The characters are believable. If you are a fan of science fiction that comes close to reality, then i recommend this book.

In wwll, a man named foreman loses his brother as his plane disappears over the devil's sea. Foreman wants to send dane back to investigate, being the only survivor. Mayer's characters are well-drawn—especially dane and his rescue dog, chelsey.



Cons

The final confrontation is also a bit rushed and jumbled. The nature of the antagonists themselves is really up in the air. The end arrives suddenly, does not impress, and in fact made me cringe with a oh yeah right, sure.
