Pros

The atlantic wave 1316 is an excellent choice for vertical storage of cd's in quantity. I have this on a hardwood floor and it is very sturdy. I digitally store all of my media and really only keep the physical copy for archival and aesthetic purposes...  Read More

The base is indeed a cherry color. I like the classy design and be black and cherry wood finish blended well with the decor in my home.

The balls at the top are a little deceiving to install, but you just have to press down and turn. My only complaint is that the wooden balls for the top were a bit difficult to fit.

The rack itself is two pieces, the base, the wooden knobs for the top and some threaded plastic holders to secure it with a small tool. Both are positioned either side of the ugly 300 unit dvd rack. The only complaint relates to the assembly.

Rememberwhen the rack is even partly full do not try to lift it from the topgrab the bottom half instead

The wooden balls provided for the top had small pinholes that would never have fit on the unit like they were supposed to

Some stacking is involved since each segment holds about 12 cds but i dont personally regard this as a problem although a collector with a strict organization compulsion would have to remove the top part of the segment to restore a title to its lower assigned place

Assembly was a little awkward but once the parts were started it went ok
