If the power goes out, it resets itself to auto-answer. If you're near fry's electronics, they often have it on sale for less than 10 bucks.
Cons
Machine has a fatal flaw. Despite all the electronics, the quality of the voice message is muddy. Have no idea whether it too is defective.
