They are soft and crackle so i use the headphone jack to plug in external speakers but even then the audio output is still fairly low with both the monitor and speaker volumes maxed out

Still it is a great monitor for the price but if youre modestly wealthy go for something else

Unlike the ads at several sites including asus itself this model does not have a dvi port only 2 hdmis and dsub
