Pros & Cons

Pros

The final villain of the book also has an i can't wait to cut you to shreds line right before the battle which made me groan. It concludes with a few dangling threads but brings the plot to a satisfying ending.

The twilight order that protects the republic is akin to the jedi order and the centarchs who use haken and wield deiat are akin to jedi who use lightsabers and wield the force.

This book is enjoyable. It takes a bit for this book to get rolling but once it does, wow. This book checks off all my boxes.

This book is another gem that will become part of my collections. There's an ability a character gains later on which is basically foresight from mistborn. I was glad to have a way to validate my assumptions.

Cons

The only reasonable way he would know all of this is if the forge sent him a message. The characters seem to know how to use only one the f-bomb.

It rivals the shadow throne as introduction to a new world

There are several that draw similarities to star wars which i could absolutely see

Gyre and his crew dont have the personal connection that mayas team had with me

Meanwhile gyre knows that the ghoul nearly defeated the chosen once before
