Can not set a constant temperature

Everything installed just fine and when i tried to adjust the control switch i noticed that the onoff function occurred at the midpoint of the temperature control setting instead of at the minimum temperature setting

The 12 plastic pipe connections dont work well with the fittings that have a gasket for a seal in them and you still have to use teflon tape to get a seal
