There is anyway something that i will criticize from most authors that write books in which they dedicate a chapter or two to teach how to edit photos not being schultz the exception and this is that they mostly concentrate on giving instructions step by step instructions with graphics and all on how to do things with photoshop and camera raw andor lightroom when there are around also other programs different from those

They usually do this instead of having a more open approach and transmit to their readers the necessary knowledge as to allow them to process or edit a photo independently of the specific program they might have chosen to buy and use
