The only marks left are on the very edges of the plate where ive nicked the edge

Drilled a hole in the top of each piece and hammered them into the ground about 3 feet apart

Of course you could see the splash where the bullet essentially vaporized when it hit the plate but when i wiped it away the plate was as flat as it was when i took it out of the box
