Over the years it has degraded slightly but not to the point of losing its filtering abilities and its never leaked a single drop

The black plastic intake parts were a bit loose right from the first day i got the unit

For my turtles i have to have it down a little way from the top and currently the water coming out of the filter is very loud because of the distance from the outlet to the top of the water the
