There isnt much weight to the base so you really have to presoak the sponge to make it sink

It has a builtin tube that connects to itself through the pieces that run all the way down to the very bottom then disperses the air from there

Product came weirdly and appears to work perfectly no directions in english so theres no way to know except its a sponge filter
