Pros & Cons

Pros

Bought this for my niece for her 6th birthday. This is something she can keep and appreciate for years, whether she learns to play it or not. Great for a beginner. Terrific starter or intermediate, especially for smaller players.

This mountain dulcimer comes already strung. The tuning pegs are a little close together for my big fingers but not bad. The snark tuner fits on the neck with no problem.

Mountain dulcimer comes with a pick & rod and the whole dulcimer is made in romania. The top is a laminate but sounds good. Seems very solid.

The bag is well padded and made for this dulcimer so it fits perfectly. I wish it had loops or * on the end for securing a strap.

This instrument is absolutely stunning. Thank you, applecreek for a truly magical instrument.

Cons

The tuning pegs are horrible and won't hold tuning for more than a few seconds. Fretting a string is enough to make it slip.

This model is useless. Might as well have bought a $15 non-playable kids' store model. Quality and workmanship are shoddy. They are cheaply made and do not have a good mellow sound.
