This one keeps the water liquid, even during double digits below zero f. With this one the birds use it frequently, and evaporation is much slower.
Long term update. With a little tweaking my stand works fine.

I rate this as a great product for quality of construction ease of use reasonable price and longevity

The seller checked for us and the problem appears to be with the manufacturer so we were able to improvise to keep the legs from splaying

Now that the warmer months have arrived i simply unsnapped the heating unit from the bottom of the bath and stored it away in the box

As well as the heating element is somewhat difficult to insert and remove
