Pros

The piston is the same exact length with the same travel distance. The actuation and the amount the lid opens is not noticeably different. Now the hatch pops open with vigor and allows easy, quick access.

These struts are a great option for replacing the oem strut that comes with the sentry handgun safe (biometric or combo) purchased to replace strut in sentry safe * safe. Works well to replace a worn out strut on a sentrysafe.

Cons

Vague instructions, difficult to install and broke in first use. It appears that one of two struts has failed and it hasn't been opened and closed 40 times. I open the lid and the stays do not do a thing.

The rating is bs, or possibly is in inch pounds, a worthless rating for all but the seriously engineering talented. Wow what a pain in the *. These are fussy. More chinese junk.

Amazon says forget it - it's over 30 days. Had to return broken parts for refund. Won't buy it again. Buy the actual gas poston to work correctly.

Even have a backup now since its in a 2pack
