Pros

Comes with a carry pouch and extra long lanyard to wear around your neck. It comes with a pamphlet that was inside the carrying case.

The compass is metal and strong. It seems to float well and spin smooth. I was fairly impressed by the rugged build construction. It is sturdy and has the features that he likes.

This compass solves that problem. A lot of features. Plus, it comes with a pouch. Keep it there, it has a lot of intel.

Cons

I have used compasses before, this paperweight is unusable. A flat silva is tons better. Is very prone to interference.

If dial isn't perfectly level it gives erroneous reading. The aiming line window in the lid was also set off-axis. The sighting lens was offset from the center line.
