    The first one i got seems to only apply to fully automatic, which is ridiculous.

    Press and hold the continuous mode button on the camera, then slowly turn the thumbwheel on the back of the camera.

    I suspect that with the loss of the battery, this may not be true, or in very bright sunlight, because it is an infrared device.

    I used the remote to snap pictures of my family so all of us could be in a picture without leaving someone out to have to be behind the camera.
