Pros & Cons
Pros
The ansbell magnetic usb c 9-pin adapter delivers magnetic connection in a brilliantly designed way. It provides pass-through power to a usb hub and connects that hub to my laptop. Not sure why apple decided to get rid of the magsafe connector - but t... Read More
Magnetic usb-c connector is perfect. The magnet is strong enough for me to move the laptop about and disconnects when it should without causing damage to the connectors. Comes with a thread loop to help remove the laptop side of the connection.
Charging speed is the same as directly plugged in to the keyboard. My only suggestion is that the charging light used the amber when charging and the green when done.
Cons
The nub that goes into the usb-c port on my chromebook would come out of the port before the magnet would disengage. After plugging in a cord and picking up the adapter, the cord immediately slides out.
At nearly 20 bucks a pop these are pricey. The renderings of this extension are misleading. Amazon will gladly refund my purchase.
The green light on the adapter itself lights up, but nothing on the computer. Neither its light nor the taskbar icon show that any power is getting to the machine. Did not get chargingmsg on my phone.
Highlights
Quality
It isnt quite as good as apple oem but is good and im happy with the product overall
The build quality of this seems solid
I got this one rather than a round one because i thought it would fit better with the case on which it does
That will not do for my ipad especially while playing an fps game with the brightness turned high
Price
This one is working and at a great price
Packaging/appearance
Like many macbook users i was disappointed that apple removed the magsafe charging cable feature from their macbooks in 2016
Competitiveness
Great adapter paired it with a 20ft cord for my son’s oculus to prevent accidental breakages
Amazing little gadget to restore magsafe connectivity to my m1 macbook air
In the description it only says 20v at 5amp which is equivalent to 5v at 3amp
I already own a set of those kind of wires with varying end adapters however they will only reach about a 2amp load

All the other ones i found people couldn’t even fit a small usbc cable next to it rendering the second port useless if the magnetic adapter was left in the laptop

I have noticed that my charging time has improved with this as well maybe its because of the multiple pins

In fact these work better with a phone case since they stick out of the phone about 14 inch without a case
