There is no problem when using the same reader with a competitors product so its not the reader at fault
I paired this with an anker 5port 60w usbc pd charger as i wanted both hdmi and charging at the same time

Besides the short cable that connects to the computer something i was aware of and am able to live with one major problem is that the product creates tons of wifi noise and noticeable loss of wifi signal the moment you plug it in

This is mostly down to a known problem with apples 2016 macbook causing the output to flicker repeatedly

As the severity of glitches seems to vary with the combination of dongle laptop and screen here are my findingswith my old 27 apple cinema hd display with a dvi adapter its utterly unusable alternating constantly between image bluescreen image bluescreen image bluescreen about a second for each cycle
