They are just loose and keep unplugging. Not a used one from amazon, let alone damaged. Another poor choice b/c of amazon horrible web site.
It sits in my room and doesn't get used much, so it seems odd. Which is ridiculous! That feels bad.
The cord has the old rubber style coating which always kinks and breaks or the cord pulls out of the connector. It is a solidly built cord otherwise, but that is a big otherwise.

Ive resorted to using a generic microusb with the samsung usb c adapter and that charges my phone in a little over 2 hours
If apple was known for highquality accessories they would be named anker

This particular cable ultimately began to split near one end but i was able to quickly get a replacement through ankers warranty program

I used this to charge my pixel 2xl phone at my bedside and it was great for that but the cable broke due to bending after a decent amount of use

To their credit anker replaced the cable at their expense with no hassle after sending photos of the broken cable

Update after writing this review anker reached out and offered me a refund or a replacement their customer service is great and they stand behind their product fully so ive updated from 2 stars to 5 stars

Initially i was happy with it but over time its developed issuesone end of the usbc doesnt charge no matter which half is up

Now with the other end it says super fast charging on the lock screen but it doesnt actually charge the phone and when you unlock the phone it acts as if theres no chargee plugged in at all
