No obvious signs of faultydamaged gaskets but doesnt pull enough of a vacuum after vacuumseal function is activated for it to actually start sealing

The clue was that manually opening the valve using a biro when the vacuum function is running didnt make any difference to the suction

Theres a tube thats supposed to connect the canister port to the lid and therefore vacuum chamber and it was hanging loose not connected to anything
