Cons

We are on the brink of returning the unit; if it does not settle down soon. Pennywise and dollar foolish.

Both the inner guts and the external hookups belong on the scrap heap. When a metal compression coupling is installed like the one on the outlet of the tank, the nut and the ring are not removable. Yes, difficult to install and definitely not dependab...  Read More

Rubber o-ring became hardened from the heat. Makes the noises but water only gets tepid. Then water starts leaking out the bottom of the cabinet on the floor and you realize omigod the whole cabinet bottom is soaked.

I stumbled on this one and it looked nearly the same at less than a third of the price so i took a chance and turns out it was identical

When i pulled the old tank out it was the same anaheim ah1300 tank just with an added waterstone sticker

It is a nonpressurized vessel more like a pot of water than your shower

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

When you turn on the faucet it is actually letting cold water into the tank and the hot water is forced out to the tap

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

When the cold water eventually heats up it expands somewhat and the extra volume drips out of the faucet so the pressure wont build and burst the tubing

The alternative is to get a pointofuse water heater such as a rheem or a bosch which is plumbed into your hot water feed line for your faucet but those arent meant to get to near boiling temps and or for ro systems

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Of course i had to take apart the old unit to see what had failed

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

In our case the tank heating element and controls were all still in working condition the leak was coming from a corroded pinch clamp on a rubber hose connection
