Long enough to let the dog roam a little more great for hikes and really helps with dogs that tend to get excited and chase after a squirrel reduces to whiplash produced by the random yank from your dog

Havent used it a ton so far but its super handy when i want to bring my leash puller on a walk with the baby stroller as well
