Pros
Hardboard is one of my favorite surfaces to paint on (i use acrylics). This works great for support for watercolor and pastel paintings. I tape my papers to this to make my art more mobile. Used this for temporary backing while painting watercolors.
It's made well and is durable. It is lightweight yet sturdy. They are nice and sturdy with no warping.
Cons
These are not waterproof, and once warped they are useless for watercolors as it will cause your colors to run together. Visibly warped on delivery. Covered with considerable dust and contaminates.

Never could get a solid feel with nonbook style sketchbooks
They had two 12” long thin boards that would open below the tray area

Only gave 4 stars because they are a bit pricey
Price worth the saved labor and zero scrap
The price was a bit steep for such a small dimension
At about 3 each or half the cost of a starbucks coffee i’d say they are a good value
