Although christian bale’s actining was phenomenal where he covered most of the details i have to stay that the movie doesn’t do the book just the book is mostly patrick bateman’s own diary where he explains everything that’s happening there is no chronological order of most events unlike how the movie portrayed it

Good novel resembles the movie but is very different too

Patrick bateman is evil but the product of a consumer society which requires wealth generation to be seen for what it is a fetish

The narrator is no killer the evidence is all there hes just every bit as messed up as the world he moves in

Not an easy read but it forces the reader to really think about what is going on and the depth behind what is wrong with the shallow lifestyle that is detailed

Even more relevant than when it was first published

This book is described as being a black comedy which is something that appeals to me and the movie did it perfectly so i am excited to see the book version of patrick bateman
